Handsome Peacock Knees

I just found these tights on Modcloth.com I HAVE TO HAVE THEM! Do you understand? I don't have a credit card though. Sad day.

I haven't posted in so long but luckily I'm new on here so no one will be missing me! I've been mad mad mad with Christmas shopping. I got my boyfriend a guitar. A really beautiful one. It was expensive and I didn't really know what I was looking for (I don't play myself) but I knew I was willing to pay the price if it means he can keep the guitar forever because of it's good quality. The girl in the shop was so helpful, by asking me millions of questions about my boyfriend she was able to narrow the choices down to two guitars that would suite him perfectly. The one I chose came with a hard case, for free. I actually gave it to him the night I got it because I was so excited and we're untraditional. He was like a little girl that just opened Malibu Barbie!

I will be posting again before Christmas to show some new outfits but geeeez I'm so busy!

The sun is shining, the weather is sweet...

I woke up this morning still sleepy and so cosy in my bed, my first thought was; if I don't go to course today, the world won't end, right? I decided it wouldn't. I'm so glad I took the day off, the weather is so beautiful and hot. It was exactly what I've needed!
So I went outside and lay in the grass and took photo's of my garden.

A few weeks ago it was Marlborough Anniversary Day. Marlborough is the region I live in in New Zealand. Everyone goes to the A&P Showgrounds and celebrates and drinks wine and lines up for hours at the hotdog line. My boyfriend and I only went to see the fireworks. Pretty!

I just found this photo on my Myspace of myself as a lil chubby kid (I still am a chubby kid, mind you). Whatever you want to call them; bathers, swimsuit, or here in New Zealand...togs - they are CUTE. And I wish I still had them, but about a kazillion sizes bigger so they'd fit me. I was a stylish bub.

All photo's taken by me. And I'm telling you, they took so long to upload it's insane.

She's such a charmer

I haven't posted in so long. I am sorry! I can't believe the amount of comments my last post recieved, especially since I'm only starting out. You are all such an insperation and your words mean so much to me.

So I went shopping yesturday. This is what I got. I'm afraid I couldn't post photo's of me actually wearing them, because I've been very busy. But the shorts are my new favourite summer outfit so I will have plenty more opportunities to take photo's. They roll down too, if you feel your outfit needs longer shorts... I love them!

I am writing to you sitting at work. It has been a very slow Sunday morning. I can see the clouds if I look out the window, they seem to be glowing from the inside out.

I love this picture. Don't you? Credit: http://leloveimage.blogspot.com/

Also, this is the funniest website I've seen in awhile. It's hard to explain it... basically, a food shop here in New Zealand called Murder Burger started up a website. The posts have nothing to do with their food, it's just really funny. http://murderburger.wordpress.com/

Drawing at the top of post by me. Sorry for the bad quality. I don't have a scanner so I have to take photo's of my drawings. It was inspired by Audrey Kawasaki. She's my favourite artist: http://www.audrey-kawasaki.com/. I'm sure if you visit her website she will be yours too!

This is my favourite drawing of hers. It's called Memai. I'm getting it as my first tattoo when I turn 18 next year (Feb 26). I read on a blog once on tips on how to get a tattoo you will never regret. One of the tips was to put your wanted tattoo on the wall above your bed months before you plan on getting it done. So you look at it everyday, and if you get sick of it then it's not the one for you! I have had Memai above my bed for 7 months now. Still lovin' it.

Who is your favourite artist?

PS - This post is sort of all over the place. But so is my mind... so sorry!

Make a plan to love me, sometime soon.

Okay so this is my second post, I should have something decent to write about by now. You would think so, but I don't. If you're wondering who the hell I am please refer to my first post in which I introduced myself because that was the polite thing for me to do.

I got those gladiator sandals I wanted. I haven't had a chance to wear them because the weather here has been confused and still thinks it's Winter. Where is the Autumn sun at, hmm?
So anyway this is what I wore today to course. I got quite alot of compliments on my skirt, which is handmade that I got for $45 at a small hippie store on my roadtrip that I just went on with my boyfriend. I will probably write about that on posts to come becase I took beautiful photo's. The skirt wasn't made to be high-waisted but I live by my own rules.

That's my sister's cat, Guinness. He is hilarious. He looks like the cats in my header, but less... rainbow.

So as I mentioned I just went on a roadtrip with my boyfriend. Yes, I expect you to be jealous. We - or I should say, he - drove all over the South Island of New Zealand for 9 days. I have lived here all my life and never knew how beautiful this country is. I was in complete awe constantly and I made sure I always had my camera in hand, I was very snap happy indeed. We went on many adventures... including a trip to hospital for me, which was the scariest night of my life! I dragged Perie around shopping everyday because I had saved so much money I had to do something with it all and invest in something; so naturally I chose clothes. I brought that skirt in the above photo's, and a cute hat, and a brown leather jacket I got for $90 that I'm absolutely in love with. I also got so much jewellery, including friendship bracelets I brought for $10 for 4 at a small market. I'm going to make friendship bracelets cool again. Photo's of them later, because I can't remove them from my wrist.

Can you see the bruise on my face? We were staying at his mothers house on our roadtrip and I smacked my head on the top bunk of the bed as I was getting into the bottom one. It was pitch black, gave me the biggest fright of my life and I had to walk around with half a black face for two weeks :(

I look retarded. That's perfectly fine.

These mountains are called The Remarkables. You're not going to make me explain why, are you?

I nearly went bunjy jumping but when we got there it was shut (secretly, I was thankful for that). Maybe next time! We mostly stayed with family we have scattered around the country, but we did spend a night in his truck. We parked up by a beach and woke to the loveliest sunrise I've ever seen. It was rustic romance at it's best.

On another note, I have been thinking about getting a single dread in my hair. Something thin and delicate, with a bead on the end. I understand this would make most of you absolutely cringe but I am a hippie at heart and I think it would look cute.
Tonight I'm going to see Pineapple Express with Perie (that's the boyfriend). I'm insisting on wearing my leather jacket that instantly makes me much cooler than him.

All photo's taken by me.

The beginning of something magical...

I suppose I should start from the beginning, as I hear it's a very good place to start.

My name is Ashleigh Rose and I have wanted to start a blog for a very long time but couldn't decide what kind of blog it should be ie; fashion, general ramblings, art postings.... so I'm making it all of the above! Hooray!

I'm 17. I live in New Zealand, yep, riiiight on the arse end of our old earth. I live in a fairly small town, everyone here are pretty devoid of any real fashion sense which makes me a little self conscious to wear the kind of things I want. But most of the time I don't really care what they think.

Things that inspire me are photograhpy, drawing, street fashion, travelling and my job. I work at my towns information centre and we have alot of different tourists come in everyday. They are my fashion insperation and sometimes they give me things, like jewellery. Yesturday an old lady who had suffered a stroke gave me a white bookmark.
www.hel-looks.com is my favourite street fashion site of all time.

I also got my tax return today, the tax fairies were very kind to me. I got $350 back which is good considering I didn't work for very long when I was at school.

Wishlist-
-Gladiator sandals. I have my eye on a pair for $39.90, bargain!
-Brogues. Can't find any anywhere. Sad day.
-Vintage second-hand jeans that I can rip up, or cut to make shorts....haven't decided yet.
-Get my hair highlighted. I might spend my tax money on it and get a trim too. Split ends make me sickkkkk.

All photos taken by me.
